  • Crisis, Right to the City movements and the question of spontaneity

    Petropoulou Chryssanthi, Christy Petropoulou•ARTICLE•City•2014•Cited by: 5•References: 5

Mexico and Greece comprise typical cases of the so-called semi-periphery where neoliberal policies have been applied but also where social movements tried to resist the implementation of the policies in question. In the past, many Right to the City movements start to emerge, focused particularly on the right to the habitat. Recently, the most important RttC movements concerned the claims to public space and common goods, while at the same time op…

The December youth uprising in Greece took on a new form, one that has generated in its turn other uprisings and new kinds of social and radical urban movements. Led by a broad spectrum of people of different ages and socio-economic backgrounds, it became the call for the 'right to the city', conceived as the right to free space and free expression, especially for the young who live in cities that have been designed to accommodate neoliberal capi…

Quel est le rôle des parents, tant par leur position sociale que par leur « soutien » aux déplacements quotidiens ? Finalement, quels sont les espaces urbains fréquentés par les adolescents, et dans quelle mesure il existe des différences à l’intérieur de ce …
