Enabling PSL and value co-creation through public engagement: A study of municipal service regeneration
PSL shifted focus from collective to individual gains from public services. While beneficial, this comes short of achieving the promise of a comprehensive theory in several respects. We address this problem by: (a) crystallizing the concept of ‘value’ on a spectrum from public to private value and (b) illustrating how engagement varies, too, on that spectrum. In investigating world applications of PSL, we draw on both qualitative and quantitative…
Science Communication as a Collective Intelligence Endeavor: A Manifesto and Examples for Implementation
Effective science communication is challenging when scientific messages are informed by a continually updating evidence base and must often compete against misinformation. We argue that we need a new program of science communication as collective intelligence—a collaborative approach, supported by technology. Cultural regions of Canada and United States: Implications for international management research
We consider why international business research comparing values, attitudes, and behaviors of managers from the United States and Canada shows conflicting results about cultural differences and similarities between these two nations. We argue that one reason behind these inconsistent findings is the presence of intranational subcultural regions in these nations. The second reason is that the variable(s) under scrutiny influence the generalizabili…
