  • How Adventure Time fans understand the 'true' producer

    Open Access•Paul Thomas, Paul A Thomas•ARTICLE•Transformative Works and Cultures•2022

Adventure Time fan encyclopedists cataloged the show's final eighty-three episodes on Wikipedia and the Adventure Time Wiki in different ways: the former favored a division handed down by Cartoon Network, whereas the latter favored a division in line with what the show's production crew had intended. Conflicts like this occur when editors disagree about who is the official producer of a text, a perception that is usually grounded in the epistemol…

  • What if academic publishing worked like fan publishing? Imagining the Fantasy Research Archive of Our Own

Open Access•Nele Noppe, Ludi Price et al.•ARTICLE•Transformative Works and Cultures•2022

Researchers, universities, and academic libraries develop a range of tools and platforms to make scholarship more accessible. What could these scholarly communications and open access projects learn from examples set by fandom and fan activists, for example, the fan works platform Archive of Our Own (AO3)? We performed a retrospective analysis spanning ten years of pediatric practice focused on patients with variable vaccination born into a practice, presenting a unique opportunity to study the effects of variable vaccination on outcomes. The average total incidence of billed office visits per outcome related to the outcomes were compared across groups (Relative Incidence of Office Visit (RIOV)). RIOV is shown to be more powerful than odds ratio of…

Inter-agency collaboration in the public sector remains chronically difficult, especially in the field of health and social care services; yet governments understandably remain enthusiastic about it. This article critically examines the potential of networked collaboration, which involves IT to facilitate inter-organizational collaboration, with particular reference to health and social care services. Networked collaboration can be implemented by…

  • Collaborating for Mental Health Services in Wales

    Open Access•Norah Jones, P Thomas et al.•ARTICLE•Public Administration•2004•Cited by: 7•References: 3

The need for inter‐agency collaboration between managers of mental health services has long been recognized, as has the difficulty of achieving and maintaining such relationships. Hudson et al . (1999) have developed a model for collaboration in the public sector and the current research has tested the model against attempts to achieve and maintain inter‐agency collaboration between mental health managers in Wales. We find Hudson's model a useful…
