The Ones We Gave You!’
Each season of HBO's The White Lotus portrays parents with their teenage or young adult children vacationing in beautiful locales. Although the parents are crumbling under the weight of social expectations to succeed, they set their children up to live their futures the same way. This article focuses only on the families on holiday to perform a narrative analysis of the dialogues between characters in the show's first three seasons. The article q…

Black Feminist methods provide a framework for understanding and challenging the intersecting systems of oppression that shape Black women's lives. By centering Black women's voices and lived realities, these methods resist dominant narratives and create space for alternative knowledges. Talking the Talk”
Jargon is frequently considered a “bad” word in the realm of professional writing. Most books on technical writing devote only a small section to explaining the use of technical language with a stern caveat discouraging its use. However, proper use of discipline-specific terms implies membership into a club of professionals who correctly “talk the talk” with each other in their writing. For novice student writers who are just beginning to hone th…
Gender identity, healthcare access, and risk reduction among Malaysia's mak nyah community
Transgender women (TGW) face compounded levels of stigma and discrimination, resulting in multiple health risks and poor health outcomes. TGW identities are erased by forcing them into binary sex categories in society or treating them as men who have sex with men (MSM). In Malaysia, where both civil and religious law criminalise them for their identities, many TGW turn to sex work with inconsistent prevention methods, which increases their health…
