  • El Conocimiento de las Emociones en las Mujeres Paraguayas Víctimas de Violencia

Open Access•Reinhardt R Fischer, Reinhardt Fischer et al.•ARTICLE•Anuario de Psicología Jurídica•2026

As part of the validation process of an emotion knowledge test based on the Theory of Conceptual Act, and composed of three subtests, the performance of a sample of Paraguayan women victims of violence (n = 43) and a comparison group (n = 102) were analyzed using the Rasch Model. The results showed no differences between the two groups in demographic variables and data model fit was adequate. The differences favoring the comparison group were sta…

  • Rasch analysis of the scores of the difficulties in emotion regulation scale (Ders) in a traffic context

    Open Access•Jennifer Pérez-Sánchez, Gerardo Prieto et al.•ARTICLE•Quality & Quantity•2023

The functional approach of emotion regulation has been mainly used in the clinical context. However, other fields such as traffic psychology have also adopted this perspective, showing interest in how difficulties in emotion regulation might interfere in driving. • Objective measurement of Spanish emotion vocabulary

Open Access•Ana R Delgado, Gerardo Prieto et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Psychology•2023

Current research on emotion knowledge and competence emphasises the role of language. Emotion vocabulary is one of the indicators of emotion knowledge that can be objectively measured; however, the metric properties of the scores obtained in tests and tasks to measure it have seldom been adequate. In this study we designed and validated a Spanish emotion vocabulary test (MOVE) employing a corpus approach to construct cloze multiple‐choice items, …

  • An application of the Rasch model to reading comprehension measurement

    Open Access•Sandra Santos, Irene Cadime et al.•ARTICLE•Psicologia Reflexão e Crítica•2016•Cited by: 1•References: 15

An effective reading comprehension measurement demands robust psychometric tools that allow teachers and researchers to evaluate the educational practices and track changes in students’ performance. In this study, we illustrate how Rasch model can be used to attend such demands and improve reading comprehension measurement. We discuss the construction of two reading comprehension tests: TRC-n, with narrative texts, and TRC-e, with expository text…

• Validity study of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (Portuguese version) by the Rasch Rating Scale model

    Open Access•Sónia Quintão, Ana R Delgado et al.•ARTICLE•Psicologia Reflexão e Crítica•2013•Cited by: 1

Our objective was to conduct a validation study of the Portuguese version of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) by means of the Rasch Rating Scale Model, and then compare it with the most used scales of anxiety in Portugal. The sample consisted of 1,160 adults (427 men and 733 women), aged 18-82 years old (M=33.39; SD=11.85). Instruments were Beck Anxiety Inventory, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale. It was found that…

  • Construction of a Memory Battery for Computerized Administration, Using Item-Response Theory

Open Access•A I Ferreira, Leandro Da Silva Almeida et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2012

In accordance with Item Response Theory, a computer memory battery with six tests was constructed for use in the Portuguese adult population. A factor analysis was conducted to assess the internal structure of the tests (N = 547 undergraduate students). According to the literature, several confirmatory factor models were evaluated. Results showed better fit of a model with two independent latent variables corresponding to verbal and non-verbal fa…

  • The effect of item feedback on multiple‐choice test responses

    Open Access•Ana R Delgado, Gerardo Prieto•ARTICLE•British Journal of Psychology•2003

This study examines the effects of item feedback on multiple‐choice test responses. In the first experiment, a positive effect was predicted under instructions advising a penalty for errors; a larger beneficial effect on female scores was expected, given the (presumed) tendency of female participants toward omission when uncertain. Feedback effects were either negligible or negative, and the expected interaction effect with gender was not found. …
