  • Capacity Building for Rare Bleeding Disorders in the Remote Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands

Tiffany F Lin, Tiffany Lin et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2016•References: 9

The US Pacific Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is home to an underserved hemophilia population. We developed a strategy in 2014 to build sustainable island-wide medical, patient and family, and community support for this rare disease. Collaboration with regional bleeding disorder leadership galvanized a weeklong conference series. More than 200 participants attended discipline-specific seminars; pre–post test evaluations documented e…

  • A Model for a Regional System of Care to Promote the Health and Well-Being of People with Rare Chronic Genetic Disorders

Judith Baker, Judith R Baker et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2005•Cited by: 3•References: 23

  • Magnetic Polarity and Fission-Track Chronology of a Late Pliocene–Pleistocene Paleoclimatic Proxy Record in the Tropical Andes

    Open Access•Karin F Helmens, René W Barendregt et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•1997

Two sections exposing a Late Pliocene–Pleistocene sedimentary sequence in the marginal valleys of the Bogotá Basin (Colombian Andes, South America) were sampled for paleomagnetic analysis. Magnetostratigraphy and fission-track dates of tephra beds provide a detailed geochronologic calibration for the sedimentary basin. Measurements of magnetic susceptibility complement the regional environmental record provided by lithological and palynological e…

    Open Access•Judith Baker•ARTICLE•Political Theory•1995•Cited by: 2•References: 1

M ELISSA WILLIAMS'S ESSAY ARGUES for a radical thesis, the adoption of a political, rather than juridical, model of justice. The failure of seemingly impartial standards of justice to secure equality for minority and marginal groups leads her to advocate a role for those groups in a political process in which they would determine and not simply apply principles of right and justice. I am skeptical both about the supporting argument she offers and…
