Nonlinear drivers and morphological thresholds of residential urban heat islands: Evidence from pedestrian-level thermal sensing and multi-scale planning analysis in Xi’an, China
How do built environment factors influence urban heat islands across local climate zones? Evidence from an interpretable XGBoost-SHAP model
Synergies and trade-offs in the food-energy-water nexus of rural households: A case study in the North China Plain
The sustainable management of food, energy, and water (FEW) resources is critical for rural development under China's Rural Revitalization Strategy. However, a systematic understanding of the household-level FEW nexus remains limited. This study addressed this gap by developing a system dynamic model to simulate household FEW consumptions for traditional households in the North China Plain from 2015 to 2060. The model was applied to evaluate 23 p…
MusicAOG: An Energy-Based Model for Learning and Sampling a Hierarchical Representation of Symbolic Music
In addressing the challenge of interpretability and generalizability of artificial music intelligence, this article introduces a novel symbolic representation that amalgamates both explicit and implicit musical information across diverse traditions and granularities. Utilizing a hierarchical and-or graph representation, the model employs nodes and edges to encapsulate a broad spectrum of musical elements, including structures, textures, rhythms, …

Dose-response relationships of dietary quality with mortality stratified by dietary inflammation and their joint associations among cancer survivors: A population-based cohort study
Among cancer survivors consuming a pro-inflammatory diet, higher dietary quality was significantly associated with lower mortality risk. Nonlinear dose-response relationships were observed for all-cause and non-cancer mortality. Moreover, the combination of a high HEI diet and anti-inflammatory diet was associated with the lowest mortality risk
Modeling the Coupling Propagation of Information, Behavior, and Disease in Multilayer Heterogeneous Networks
With the development of internet, transportation network, and other technologies, the transmission of information and disease presents complex and diverse new modes, which are mainly manifested as the coupling transmission of information and disease in the cyber–physical–social space. Inspired by this phenomenon, this article proposes a multilayer network-based information–behavior–disease coupling (IBDN) transmission model for the process of inf…
The relationship between emotion regulation ability and anxiety in adolescents: Independent and collaborative mediating roles of adaptive and nonadaptive emotion regulation strategies
Unconscious cognitive reappraisal and unconscious expression suppression regulate emotional responses: An ERP study
Bedtime procrastination related to loneliness among Chinese university students during post-pandemic period: A moderated chain mediation model
The results indicate the effects and potential mechanisms of loneliness on bedtime procrastination after the relaxation of the pandemic prevention and control policy in China from the perspective of self-regulatory resources and provide insights into improving university students' sleep routine and mental health post pandemic
Factors influencing engagement in online dual practice by public hospital doctors in three large cities: A mixed-methods study in China
Background: In the digital age, a rising number of public sector doctors are providing private telemedicine and telehealth services on online health care platforms. This novel practice pattern - termed online dual practice - may profoundly impact health system performance in both developed and developing countries. This study aims to understand the factors influencing doctors' engagement in online dual practice. Methods: Using a mixed-methods des…
A multi-channel cross-residual deep learning framework for news-oriented stock movement prediction
Stock market movement prediction remains challenging due to random walk characteristics. Yet through a potent blend of input parameters, a prediction model can learn sequential features more intelligently. In this paper, a multi-channel news-oriented prediction system is developed to capture intricate moving patterns of the stock market index. Specifically, the system adopts the temporal causal convolution to process historical index values due t…
Planning method of centralized greening in high-rise residential blocks based on improvement of thermal comfort in summer
Understanding online dual practice of public hospital doctors in China: A mixed-methods study
Telemedicine and telehealth hold promise for reducing access barriers, improving quality and containing medical costs. As Internet companies enter the healthcare market, a rising number of online healthcare platforms have emerged worldwide. In some countries like China, public hospital doctors are providing direct-to-consumer telemedicine services on these commercial platforms as independent providers. Such online service provision creates a new …
