Polycentricity and technological diversification: Divergent pathways across Chinese urban regions
The roles of mobility and functional non-ubiquity in regional transport inequality: A case study of Shanghai–Suzhou region
Quantifying local mobility and unraveling nonlinear mechanisms in the 15-minute city: Evidence from residential- and workplace-based activities
Scaling and mismatches of public service accessibility in rural China: A comparison of healthcare and shopping facilities
Technological diversification in China: The role of intra- and extra-regional collaboration
This study investigates how intra- and extra-regional collaborations affect regional technological diversification in Chinese urban regions (URs), using a continuous indicator that places diversification along a spectrum from related to unrelated. Based on patent co-application data from 2001 to 2020, we analyse the intensity, technological diversity and the correlation of intra- and extra-regional collaborations. Our results show that the effect…
The spatial distribution and synergistic effect of different innovation activities in Chinese cities: An analysis based on technology, design, and market activities
Assessing the impact of urban place irreplaceability on intercity travel mode choice
Connection patterns and resilience simulation of innovation network in the context of technology transfer: A case study of strategic emerging industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Ar…
Buzz-and-pipeline’ dynamics in Chinese science: The impact of interurban collaboration linkages on cities’ innovation capacity
Drawing on the ‘buzz-and-pipeline’ framework, this paper examines the impact of intra- and interregional collaboration linkages on the innovation capacity of cities, as evidenced by the co-publication networks existing among 217 Chinese cities located in 20 city-regions. The results show that (1) intra- and interregional linkages have an inverted ‘U’-shaped and positive relationship with innovation capacity, respectively; (2) the positive effects…
Interurban scientific collaboration networks across Chinese city-regions

Interaction between different forms of proximity in inter‐organizational scientific collaboration: The case of medical sciences research network in the Yangtze River Delta region
Active travel for active ageing in China: The role of built environment
Comparing the physical, functional and knowledge integration of the Yangtze River Delta city-region through the lens of inter-city networks
