  • A Juno-era View of Electric Currents in Jupiter's Magnetodisk

Zhi‐Yang Liu, Michel Blanc et al.•PREPRINT•2023

Recent observations from Juno provided a detailed view of Jupiter’s magnetodisk, including its magnetic fields, waves, plasmas and energetic particles. Here, we contribute to Juno results by determining the electric currents threading the magnetodisk and their coupling to field-aligned currents (FAC) in the midnight-to-dawn local time sector. We first derive from Juno magnetic field data the spatial distributions of the height-integrated radial (…

  • Hiring Difficulties and Manpower Flows: Does Labour Market Density Matter

Open Access•Michel Blanc, Eric Cahuzac et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•2008•Cited by: 1•References: 19

We analyse the impact of density on labour markets when firms and workers are heterogeneous. Using the results of a survey carried out in the French Midi-Pyrénées region, we show that, for comparable sizes and sectors, recruiting firms in low-density areas experience more difficulties in finding workers meeting the requirements of the jobs, especially since being usually located far away from large urban agglomerations, they appear to hold little…

Glei…

  • Local/Global Institutional Systems of Environmental Public Action

    Open Access•Gilles Allaire, Michel Blanc•ARTICLE•Sociologia Ruralis•2003•Cited by: 2

In this paper we propose an analytical approach to the provision of local environmental services. These services, that seek to provide public goods, imply the undertaking of technical actions that modify, in some way, the local environment. The public goods in question always combine both local and 'global' dimensions. Under the latter, their production can benefit from policies elaborated at higher territorial levels that are managed and impleme…

  • Les paradoxes de la création

    Open Access•Michel Blanc•ARTICLE•Socio-anthropologie•2000

« A thing of beauty is a joy for ever.

  • Towards a Social-Psychological Model of Bilingual Development

Open Access•Josiane F Hamers, Michel Blanc et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Language and Social…•1982•Cited by: 8•References: 13

In the present paper a social psychological model for the development of bilinguality in the young child is proposed, covering all typical cases of bilingual development. Central to the proposed model of bilingual development are the valorisation mechanisms which the child develops through her/his own system of social networks during early childhood as well as the social psychological mechanisms which develop consequently in the child. Taking as …
