  • Anticipated, experiencing, and recalled emotional responses to dog cognitive dysfunction syndrome in Japanese dog owners

    Open Access•Yulin Liu, Yu-Lin Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Human-Animal Interactions•2025

The present study investigated the expected, current, and recalled emotional responses of future, current, and past caregivers of senior companion dogs to geriatric behaviors associated with cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS). Japanese participants were divided into three groups: younger dog owners, senior dog owners, and former senior dog owners. Their emotional responses to eleven items of the CDS-related geriatric behaviors and their overall…

  • Effects of Forest Restoration Structure on Soil Aggregate‐Associated Organic Carbon in the Loess Plateau

Open Access•Qianzhuo Zhao, Duoxun Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2025

With the deepening of people's understanding of the carbon sink function of forest ecosystems, plantation forests have been widely established. Improving soil aggregate stability and increasing soil organic carbon (SOC) content have become the key strategies to enhance the carbon sink capacity of these ecosystems. We investigated the 0–100 cm soil layer in coniferous, broad‐leaved and mixed forests in the Ziwuling Mountains of the Loess Plateau. …

  • Commercial Value of Data Resource: An Overview of Current State of Research and Future Prospects

Open Access•Haolang Qin, Haohui Qin et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

This study systematically reviewed 5,465 research articles related to data business and data value from 2010 to 2024. The sample literature was analyzed using Bradford’s Law, Price’s Law, and CiteSpace to identify and extract the core elements influencing the realization of data business value. Based on the sample literature, the multiple value forms of data resources and their inherent logical relationships were deeply explored. It aims to clari…

  • The role of miR-146a/Irak1/JNK1 pathway in mediating the effects of Yiqi Congming decoction on dry eye: A mechanistic study in rat models

Open Access•Yulin Liu, Yanhua Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

YQCM protects tear film stability in a rat model of dry eye by suppressing corneal epithelial inflammatory responses and reducing apoptosis through modulation of the miR-146a/IRAK1/JNK1 pathway

  • The impact of climate risk on rural land transfer: Evidence from 360 Chinese villages

  • Will Bride Price Affect Household Savings: Evidence from Rural China

Yulin Liu, Yuling Liu et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Development Studies•2025•References: 35

Does the increasing bride price affect household savings behaviour? This study investigates the relationship and the mechanism between the increase in the bride price and rural household savings behaviour using data from the China Labour-force Dynamics Survey (CLDS). The findings reveal that the bride price has a significant positive effect on rural household savings. Rooted in the traditional view of ‘raising a child to provide for the aged’, th…

  • Do Parents’ Political Connections Matter for Children's Charitable Giving

Open Access•Qiao Zu, Yulin Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Social Science Quarterly•2025•References: 39

Objective Nonprofit research on the influence of politics is emerging, while few scholars investigate such issues from intergenerational perspective. Following the cultural transmission model, our study examines whether and how parents’ political connections affect children's giving. Method Employing data from the 2014 and 2018 China Labor‐force Dynamics Survey, we estimate a truncated normal hurdle model to reveal the impact of political connect…

  • Catalpol rescues LPS-induced cognitive impairment via inhibition of NF-Κb-regulated neuroinflammation and up-regulation of TrkB-mediated BDNF secretion in mice

  • Changes in soil microbial metabolic activity following long‐term forest succession on the central Loess Plateau, China

Open Access•Yulin Liu, Xinzhang Song et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2023

Forest succession can alter terrestrial ecosystem processes and potentially impact subsurface carbon dynamics. However, the effects of long‐term forest succession on soil microbial metabolic activity remain unclear. This study investigated a long‐term forest succession approximately ~160 years after farmland abandonment on the central Loess Plateau, China, to explore the changes in soil microbial metabolism following the forest succession. Among …

  • Does regional gender inequality affect stock market participation? Evidence from China

Yulin Liu, Min Zhang•ARTICLE•Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy•2023•References: 12

In this article, we examine whether regional gender inequality affects a household’s decision to participate in stock market in China. Based on a nationwide micro data, our empirical results show that households in counties with greater gender inequality are less likely to hold risky assets. The results are robust to a number of variations in our empirical models. The negative effect of gender inequality on household stock market participation is…

However, as an informal economy, Daigou trade between buyers and sellers is now a lucrative market and has emerged as a distinctive tourism segment. While Daigou occurs on the back of technological platforms that facilitate electronic commerce between customer to customer, academic literature on Daigou from a Chinese outbound tourism perspective remains scarce. Prompted by this de…
