Only a small area of the Australian mainland was glaciated during the Pleistocene, whereas periglacial deposits are far more common, indicating that cold environments were extensive and a major influence on landscape evolution. In this commentary we encourage thinking about how to effectively nurture postgraduate students in geography. We offer some ideas and strategies for supervisors who mentor postgrads for careers in and beyond the academy. We also consider how supervisor-student relationships can take advantage of geography's interdisciplinarity to develop a well rounded postgraduate experience
Links between Floods and Other Water Issues in the Himalayan and Tibetan Plateau Region
The Himalayan and Tibetan region and adjacent plains are highly flood-prone, causing massive damage in both urban and rural areas.
