Anchoring bias in large language models: An Experimental Study
Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4 and Gemini have significantly advanced artificial intelligence by enabling machines to generate and comprehend human-like text. Despite their impressive capabilities, LLMs are not without limitations. They exhibit various biases. Although much research has explored demographic biases, cognitive biases in LLM have not been equally studied. This study delves into anchoring bias, a cognitive bias in which init…
Mapping valence-specific affective flexibility deficits in depression: Neurobehavioral dissociations revealed by event-related potentials
These findings provide novel ERP-based evidence of valence-specific affective flexibility deficits in MDD, characterized by behavioral difficulty engaging with positive stimuli and attenuated neural responsiveness during negative processing. This valence asymmetry may underlie emotional rigidity in depression and highlight neurocognitive targets for intervention
Response‐dependence and normativity
A non‐normative, response‐dependent view about morality can avoid metaphysical extravagance and explain why the extension of some non‐normative concepts can non‐accidentally match the extension of moral concepts. These features make it a plausible reductive account of moral properties. However, some philosophers believe that a response‐dependent account of morality must contain an irreducibly normative component. I argue that it is impossible to …
Deep fake geography? When geospatial data encounter Artificial Intelligence
The developing convergence of Artificial Intelligence and GIScience has raised a concern on the emergence of deep fake geography and its potentials in transforming human perception of the geographic world. Situating fake geography under the context of modern cartography and GIScience, this paper presents an empirical study to dissect the algorithmic mechanism of falsifying satellite images with non-existent landscape features. To demonstrate our …
