Including QR Codes on survey recruitment materials may be one method to reduce burden and encourage participation. The Covid-19 pandemic prompted a resurgence of QR Code use, so it is reasonable to assume they may now also be effective in survey outreach. In this article, we examine response by access mode (QR/URL) to better understand QR Code effectiveness in a push-to-web survey. We also examine access mode by select household and respondent de…

Examining the Impact of a Survey’s Email Timing on Response Latency, Mobile Response Rates, and Breakoff Rates
The proportion of web survey responses submitted from mobile devices such as smartphones is increasing steadily. This trend presents new methodological challenges because mobile responses are often associated with increased breakoffs, which, in turn, can increase nonresponse bias. Using data from a survey of college students with more than 20,000 respondents, response patterns are examined to identify which days and times the survey invitation an…

Guanylate Cyclase Activity in Human Leukemic and Normal Lymphocytes
Cyclic GMP is thought to be involved in lymphocytic cell proliferation and leukemogenesis. In general, the nucleotide is elevated in leukemic vs. normal lymphocytes and changes have been reported to occur during remission and relapse of this disease. Although the cA/cG ratios are higher for normal lymphocytes the basal guanylate cyclase (EC 4.6.1.2) activities do not correlate with altered cyclic GMP levels. The crude guanylate cyclases display c…
