From content flows to legitimacy competition
Regulatory controversies surrounding TikTok have made visible a shift in international communication: cross-border communication is increasingly conditioned not only by content flows, national image, or strategic narratives, but by whether the platform infrastructures that organize visibility can acquire legitimacy across heterogeneous jurisdictional public arenas. This Conceptual Analysis develops a communication-centered framework for this shif…
Enhancing table tennis performance and physical fitness through digital technology
Educational digitization has made integrating digital technology into physical education a pivotal strategy for transforming pedagogy. Guided by the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, this study addresses two challenges in Chinese university physical education: the lack of evidence-based research on technology integration, and the decline in student physical fitness alongside the waning effectiveness of traditional tab…
Recent regional warming across the Siberian lowlands
The northern mid-high latitudes experience climate warming much faster than the global average. However, the difference in the temperature change rates between permafrost and non-permafrost zones remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the temporal changes in temperature means and extremes across the Siberian lowlands (<500 m) over the past six decades (1960–2019) using in situ observations and reanalysis data. The results show that perma…
Potential role of permafrost thaw on increasing Siberian river discharge
Despite the increasing Siberian river discharge, the sensitivity of streamflow to climate forcing/permafrost thawing is poorly quantified. Based on the Budyko framework and superposition principles, we detected and attributed the changes in streamflow regimes for the three great Siberian rivers (Ob, Yenisei, and Lena) during 1936–2019. Over the past 84 years, streamflow of Ob, Yenisei and Lena has increased by ∼7.7%, 7.4% and 22.0%, respectively.…
