Provocation in the Workplace
Workplace violence has become a serious concern for managers and unions. This study examined provocation, a precursor to aggression and retaliation, using a grounded theory approach to evaluate a set of published arbitration decisions. This research assessed multidimensional aspects of the performance appraisal interview and the effect on employees' satisfaction with the interview and perceived effectiveness of the interview. The effects of an additional two years of college on the subsequent labor market experiences of two-year college engineering/ technology graduates are examined in this paper. The results indicate that compensation and occupational level are enhanced by the possession of a baccalaureate degree.
