The December 3 Impeachment Square and Queer Visibility
본 연구는 12·3 비상계엄 이후 탄핵 집회에 나타난 퀴어 가시성(queer visibility)의 의미를 분석한다. 구체적으로는 2016–2017년 촛불집회에서 ‘나중’으로 미뤄졌던 성소수자의 요구가 어떤 조건과 과정을 거쳐 광장의 중심부로 진입할 수 있었으며, 그러한 변화가 민주주의의 위기 국면에서 갖는 의미를 탐색한다. 이를 위해 2024년 12월부터 2025년 4월까지 약 4개월간 탄핵 집회 참여관찰과 집회 참여자 35명에 대한 심층면접을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 퀴어 가시성의 확대는 격동의 시간(intense times)이라는 조건과 8년간 축적된 시민사회의 역량이 결합한 결과였다. 특히 남태령 투쟁은 “누구도 배제되지 않는 민주주의”라는 새로운 인지적 틀을 확산시키고, 광장의 문법과 연대의 실천을 변화시키는 다사건적 시위임이 드러났다. 이후 퀴어 가시성은 교차적 연대의 상징으로 자리 …

Previous studies on the coming out and the mental health of sexual minorities have often overlooked experiences in non-Western societies and the various patterns of coming out within the immediate families. This study examines the emergence and development of a social movement community among LGBTQ population. Drawing on the case of the LGBTQ movement in South Korea between 1993 and 2019 from a longitudinal perspective, we identify the relational dynamics of how different movement groups avoid internal frictions and successfully develop a movement community. 기존 성소수자 커밍아웃 요인 연구는 부모나 친구 등 특정 관계를 중심으로 진행되었기에 커밍아웃의 네트워크와 상황적인 복잡성을 충분히 고려하지 못했다. 본 연구는 청년 성소수자의 커밍아웃 양상을 유형화하고 각 유형에 따른 특징을 살펴보기 위하여 대상별 커밍아웃 여부와 상황별 정체성 관리 변수를 종합적으로 고려하는 잠재집단분석을 수행했다. 연구 결과에 따르면 커밍아웃은 일관적이고 일회적인 행위가 아니라 다양한 사회적 관계 및 사회심리적 요인과 복합적인 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 2021 청년 성소수자 사회적 욕구 및 실태 조사 자료를 바탕으로 잠재집단분석 및 다중로지스틱회귀분석을 실시한 결과를 정리해보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 커밍아웃 양상은 개방형 벽장(20.1%), 은둔형 벽장(60.1%), 억압형 벽장(19.8%) 유형의 세 가지 잠재집단으로 구분되었다. 직장을 포함한 모든 사회적 관계에…
