    Jean‐marc Moura•ARTICLE•Contemporary French and…•2019

Transatlantic literary migrations today. A critical approach of the literary connections between the United States and France. The article studies a few examples of the literary connections (influence, reception, collaboration) between the United States and France, mainly on three levels of analysis: a thematic level, where the U.S. becomes a privileged theme for popular writers (i.e. Marc Lévy, Guillaume Musso), a francophone level (“francophone”…

    Jean-Marc Moura, Jean‐marc Moura•ARTICLE•Esprit•2011

    Jean-Marc Moura, Jean‐marc Moura•ARTICLE•Mouvements•2011•References: 1

  • The evolving context of postcolonial studies in France

    Jean‐marc Moura•ARTICLE•Journal of Postcolonial Writing•2008•Cited by: 2•References: 4

This article examines the different ways in which postcolonial debates are being addressed and reformulated in France today, both within and beyond the field of intellectual discourse. It evokes the academic and social reactions to the promulgation of a law in 2005, on the interpretation of French colonial history, and shows how the ensuing debates led to the (limited and controversial) development of postcolonial perspectives in France. It concl…

  • Textual Ownership in L'etrange destin de Wangrin (The Fortunes of Wangrin) by Amadou Hampate Ba

    Jean-Marc Moura, Jean‐marc Moura•ARTICLE•Research in African Literatures•2006•Cited by: 1

Amadou Hampâté Bâ has constantly underplayed the literary status of his writings to emphasize their factual reference and his debt to his oral informants. He does not, for instance, consider L ́étrange destin de Wangrin a novel but a narrative written according to the protagonist ́s personal testimony. Bâ often presented himself as a witness and an interpreter, not as a professional writer. The paper will explore the multiple relationships betwee…
