    The progressive deregulation of the Australian financial system, promulgated by the Campbell Committee of Inquiry (1981), has created major pressures for structural readjustment in the Australian banking industry.     In this paper, the changing distribution is reviewed of Australian trading bank activities within the business organisations framework currently being developed in geography. Forces of environment and technology are envisaged as acting upon and reacting to the structure and operation of individual banking organisations, with these sets of forces themselves emanating from a constellation of competing controlling and complementary organisations.
