Individual and environmental risk factors for post-traumatic stress among hospital nurses after the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake in Japan
Although post-earthquake psychological distress arises from a complex interplay of personal vulnerabilities and environmental stressors, the pathways by which these factors interact remain underexplored. We surveyed 327 hospital nurses in Nanao City, Japan, approximately eight months after the magnitude-7.5 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake; 224 complete responses were analyzed. Comparison of Single-Treatment Efficacy of Bevacizumab and Ranibizumab for Retinopathy of Prematurity
Background: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a significant cause of blindness in infants. Appropriate therapeutic intervention is essential because retinal detachment due to the progression of ROP is critical to visual function. The intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents has been increasingly applied to inhibit the development and progression of ROP. In this study, we compared the efficacy of single int…

Relative contributions of expressive behavior and contextual information to the judgment of the emotional state of another
This study used a technique for assessing the relative impact of facial-gestural expressions, as opposed to contextual information regarding the elicitor and situation, on the judgment of emotion. In Study 1, 28 undergraduates rated videotapes of spontaneous facial-gestural expressions and separately rated the emotionally loaded color slides that elicited those expressions. The source clarities of the expressions and slides were matched using cor…
