• Incidental learning of proper names and “earwitness” recall

Chelsea L Swanson, Lori E James et al.•ARTICLE•Memory•2021

This study tested recall of proper names versus other details of a crime in incidental learning conditions designed to parallel recall when an "earwitness" reports what he or she overheard from someone discussing a crime. Participants heard an audio recording of someone discussing details of a crime he had committed, and they then completed filler tasks designed to mislead them as to the study's true purpose. Lara Anderson, Rebecca Ingram•ARTICLE•Bulletin of Spanish Studies•2020•Cited by: 1

Articles in this Special Issue illustrate that foodways of the transhispanic world are heterogeneous and conflicted. Yet, food discourses allow us to study how people think with food, using it to mark identities, to establish po…

YK 11, a small, heavily repaired merchantman, was one of 37 Byzantine shipwrecks excavated at Yenikapı in Istanbul, Turkey. This 7th-century hull, abandoned in the harbour as a derelict, was studied by archaeologists from the Institute of Nautical Archaeology. Originally built with mortise-and-tenon edge joinery, the ship had undergone a series of significant repairs over its lifetime. Repairs included the replacement of planking as well as frami…

  • Escritora-ama de casa

    Rebecca Ingram•ARTICLE•Bulletin of Spanish Studies•2017

Spanish writer Carmen de Burgos’ popular fiction and essays reveal her to be one of Spain’s most influential early feminists, a fact complicated by her publication of cookbooks La cocina moderna (1906) and Nueva cocina práctica (1925). This study argues that, more than mere potboilers that reinforce traditional gender roles, they demonstrate how Burgos exploited the literary marketplace that both contributed to critics’ dismissal of her and also …
