  • Kairos study protocol

    Open Access•D Gabaldón-Estevan, Diego Carmona-Talavera et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Recent evidence from chronobiology, chssronomedicine and chronopsychology shows that the organisation of social time (e.g., school schedules) generally does not respect biological time. This raises concerns about the impact of the constant mismatch between students’ social and internal body clocks on their health, well-being and academic performance. The present paper describes a protocol used to investigate the problem of (de) synchronisation of…

  • Assessing non-dysfunctional attitudes toward sleep

    Open Access•Miguel Tecedeiro, Cátia Reis et al.•ARTICLE•Psicologia Reflexão e Crítica•2024•References: 24

Objectives To adapt the Charlotte Attitudes Toward Sleep (CATS) scale, the only self-assessment instrument measuring non-dysfunctional attitudes toward sleep, into Portuguese and to study its psychometric properties in a Portuguese sample. Method A sample of 1858 participants, recruited through non-probabilistic methods, was randomly split in two subsamples; one was used to develop the CATS model, the other for testing model invariance. We used s…

  • Associations between changes in habitual sleep duration and lower self-rated health among Covid-19 survivors

Open Access•Kentaro Matsui, Frances Chung et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

Changes in habitual sleep duration following SARS-CoV-2 infection were associated with lower SRH. Decreased or increased habitual sleep duration might have a bidirectional relation with post-COVID-19 symptoms. Further research is needed to better understand the mechanisms underlying these relationships for in order to improve SRH in individuals with COVID-19

  • Sleep and Awakening Quality during Covid-19 Confinement

Open Access•Teresa Paiva, Cátia Reis et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

The SQ logistic regression showed gender, morbidities, CECL, and awakenings as relevant, whereas, for AQ, relevant variables further included age and physical activity. Aiming to have a high stress compliance, each individual should sleep well, have important control of their mood, practice positive behaviors while dismissing negative behaviors and attitudes, practice exercise, have adequate nutrition, and beware of technologies and dependences

  • Translation and validation of two questionnaires assessing fear of flying for Portuguese language

Open Access•Catarina Mestre, Antonio Lopes et al.•ARTICLE•Análise Psicológica•2017

The present paper describes the translation process and psychometric properties of the Portuguese versions of two self-report scales for fear of flying assessment: FAS and FAM. Internal consistency and convergent and divergent validities were assessed in a sample of 960 Portuguese speaking population. Results confirmed FAS-PT as a 3 factor model and FAM-PT as a 2 factor model, like the original versions. Cronbach's coefficient showed excellent va…
