  • Democratic Ontologies of Knowledge

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen•ARTICLE•Knowledge Cultures•2020

In this paper, I interrogate ethical and political implications of autoethnography as activism and way of academic life. I indirectly ask, what might democratic ontologies of knowledge produce in Higher Education. I focus on a – more than – refusing to be hemmed – wild – Denzinian performance of autoethnographical writing, the theory of liminality of Victor Turner and the speculative philosophies of Deleuze and Guattari. Liminal moments involve b…

  • Body as Profession or What Is It With Irma

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen•ARTICLE•Culture Studies ↔ Critical…•2017•References: 13

This article is about critical thinking and critique, ultimately quality. It is about becoming (educator) in the urgency of hesitancy and doubt, thus building in creative dense dynamics from the start possibilizing immanent critique practices. I call it material eco/edu/criticism. In our neoliberal rationalisms and times, I indirectly ask questions about the (social) status of hesitancy in both education and research introducing methodological an…

  • A Minor Research and Educational Language

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen•ARTICLE•Qualitative Inquiry•2015•Cited by: 4•References: 11

A minor research and educational language is deterritorialized, political, and has collective value moving "head over heels and away." Through taking language to its limits, to the desert, the main object is to engage not only critique and extract, hopefully creating spaces for collective subjectivity intensities, for change, and for social justice. This is thus about the beingness of engagement and ontological becomings: becoming imperceptible, …

  • Writing Race Roma 3D

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen•ARTICLE•Qualitative Inquiry•2014•References: 5

This is an autoethnographic 3D writing onto-story about encounters with Roma and begging. It is about the potentiality of virtuality, but sometimes my body rises up into my language. It is intense, intimidating, and sometimes unpleasant. Concepts are methods are problems, but for a language of inquiry, the concepts of Roma, Race, and I are not discriminating enough

  • The Bike With the Pink Tires-On Global Science Gateways, Safespaces, and Benefiting From Confusions

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen•ARTICLE•Qualitative Inquiry•2014•References: 4

This is a live world writing story about my stay as visiting scholar at the Department of Communications, University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign with Professor Norman Denzin during the Fall of 2012. It is a story about open-science economy safespaces otherplace learning and benefiting from uncertainty and confusion and the love of adventure and jazz. It is a story about the bike with the pink tires leaning calmly against the wall of the ROTC bu…

  • The Inefficiency of Knowledge and the Limits of Explanations; the Necessity of Critique

    Open Access•Anne Beate Reinertsen, Anne Ryen et al.•ARTICLE•Qualitative Inquiry•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 16

July 22nd 2011 Norway experienced the deadliest terror attack in the country since World War II. One man, Anders Behring Breivik, ABB (33), blew up the Governmental Headquarters in our capital Oslo, killing eight people. Later that day he shot and killed, one by one, 69 youths attending a summer camp at Utøya, and wounded many others. His target was the Norwegian Labour Party, its most prominent and influential members, and those who one day migh…
