The long-run impact of war on international tourism demand
This Note examines the long-term impact of the Japanese War of Aggression against China on inbound tourists from Japan to Chinese regions. Difference-in-differences estimates reveal that the Chinese regions that suffered more civilian casualty rate due to the Japanese invasion of China during 1937–1945 received fewer inbound tourists from Japan. The bilateral relation, cultural exchanges, and educational programs are confirmed to be essential mec…

Data augmentation has been widely used across various research domains in recent years. However, data augmentation applied to real-world graph-structured data tends to suffer from weak information, such as missing structural elements, incomplete features, and limited label availability. Graphs with weak information lack adequate training data to guide the graph learning process, resulting in performance loss. This article presents a novel automat…
A novel approach to rapidly tracking whole-farm methane emissions
Enteric fermentation and manure from livestock farming are major sources of methane (CH 4 ) emissions and have a large potential for emissions reduction. However, there is a lack of effective methods for evaluating future emissions reduction efforts, especially at the farm scale. We developed a rapid analysis method to evaluate CH 4 emissions from a large number of dairy cow farms in the Netherlands based on single-transect mobile van measurement…

Observed decade-long improvement of combustion efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta region in China
The ΔCO/ΔCO 2 ratio is a good indicator of the combustion efficiency of carbon-containing fuels, and can be useful to assess the combustion efficiency on a regional scale. In this study, we analyzed in-situ observations of CO 2 and CO concentrations from 2011 to 2021 at the Station for Observing Regional Processes of the Earth System (SORPES), in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region of eastern China, and calculated the ΔCO/ΔCO 2 ratio to investig…

Profiles of depressive symptoms and influential factors among people living with HIV in China
Identifying profiles of depressive symptoms among PLWHs using the PHQ-9 items allows for understanding of the distinct paths of development of depressive symptoms and for developing tailored prevention and intervention programs for PLWHs
Associations Between Family Function and Non-suicidal Self-injury Among Chinese Urban Adolescents with and Without Parental Migration
The Moderating Role of Lifestyle on Insomnia in Home Quarantine College Students During the Covid-19 Epidemic
There has been sufficient evidence for the relationship between lifestyle and insomnia in the general population, but for individuals who already suffer from insomnia, it is not clear whether a healthy lifestyle can also pose similar benefits. The present study investigated the roles of different aspects of lifestyle in the development of individual insomnia by tracking insomnia symptoms of college students during the COVID-19 lock-down. Two surv…
Assessment to China's Recent Emission Pattern Shifts
Energy and emission data are crucial to climate change research and mitigation efforts. The accuracy of energy statistics is essential for mitigation strategies and evaluating the performance of low carbon energy transition efforts. This study provides the most up‐to‐date emission inventories for China and its provinces for 2018 and 2019. We also update the carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emission inventories of China and 30 provinces since 2012 based on …

Earthquake Exposure and PTSD Symptoms Among Disaster-Exposed Adolescents
Considerable studies have explored the potential mechanisms between trauma exposure and PTSD, but little is known about the role of sleep problems and resilience in this relationship. To address this research gap, the present study examined whether sleep problems mediated the relationship between earthquake exposure and PTSD symptoms, and whether this mediating process was moderated by resilience. A sample of 1,342 adolescents ( M age = 15.54 yea…
Investigating the Relationships Between Listening Skills and Genre Competence Through Cognitive Diagnosis Approach
Although research on listening skills has been frequently conducted to discover the nature of listening comprehension, there is little study about listening genre competence which is related with knowledge about listening text types. In order to find out whether listening skills and listening genre competence are related, cognitive diagnosis, a quantitative method to disclose finer-grained latent attributes, was adopted in this study. The general…
