Impacts of Vitamin A Degradation on the Effectiveness and Cost-Effectiveness of Vitamin A Fortification Programs: Modeled Evidence for Preschool Children in Nigeria
Dietary vitamin A inadequacy remains a serious public health problem, especially among young children. Food and condiment fortification programs and policies are in place in many countries to address this issue, but degradation of the vitamin A added via fortification can reduce the quantity of vitamin A reaching consumers. We modeled the impacts of vitamin A degradation on program effectiveness and cost-effectiveness in fortified wheat flour, su…
Predictors of Anaemia Among Young Children Receiving Daily Micronutrient Powders (MNPs) for 24 Weeks in Bangladesh: A Secondary Analysis of the Zinc in Powders Trial
In Bangladesh, anaemia is estimated to affect 52% of children 6-59 months, with the youngest children (6-23 months) experiencing the highest levels of anaemia (71%). Micronutrient powders (MNPs) are designed to increase micronutrient intake in young children; however, in some settings, the prevalence of anaemia may remain elevated despite the high coverage of MNPs. In a secondary analysis of the Zinc in Powders trial (ZiPT), we identified risk fa…
Not one size fits all” The challenges of measuring paediatric health-related quality of life and the potential role of digital ecological momentary assessment: A qualitative study

Variance in Autism Prevalence: Links With State-Level Autism Resources
The prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has varied over time and across the United States. This variability is likely related to external factors, such as regional differences in ASD-related resources. The study reported on here examined the links between ASD prevalence as measured by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B child count data and four aspects of state infrastructure (health care and insurance policies, cl…
Black and Indigenous Solidarity in Social Sciences: Leaning into Our Nuanced Racialized Identities and Healing Together
Our co-authored piece contributes to Black and Indigenous solidarity juxtaposed to our nuanced and convergent lived experiences as racialized people. Lauren and I (Nate)co-explore how our racialized identities and stories may complexify Black-and-Indigenous-led movements. We say "racialized" to acknowledge white supremacists' racecraft to subjugate Black and Indigenous people. Lauren, an Indigenous educator activist, and I, a Black scholar activi…

It’s Like a Guy Never Lived Here!”: Reading the Gendered Domestic Spaces of Friends
This article argues that the postfeminist gender politics of Friends (NBC, 1994–2004) are played out via a series of manipulations and reversals of space and mise-en-scène. Arguing that clearly gendered domestic space forms a stable part of the sitcom’s equilibrium, it analyses instances where the mise-en-scène boldly calls attention to men’s and women’s spaces, puts the gendering of space into flux, and highlights the burden of domestic labor. I…
Nothing Suits Me like a Suit: Performing Masculinity in How I Met Your Mother
This article uses How I Met Your Mother (2005-14) as a case study to explore a new emphasis within postfeminist media texts on exposing the constructed and conflicted nature of masculinity. This article examines the central male characters as examples of dominant, residual and emergent formations of masculine identity. It examines how performance, narrative and production design produce these highly differentiated versions of masculinity. It expl…
