Black and Some Other Race: Examining Shifts in the Black Latino Population in the Census Bureau's 2020 Race Question
The 2020 census race question featured a write-in response area to the Black race category as a way to capture detailed race responses. Evidence suggests that respondents who wrote a Hispanic or Latino origin response (i.e., Dominican or Panamanian) in this response area were reclassified as "Black" and "Some Other Race" (SOR) and tabulated as multiracial. Racial and Ethnic Disparities: Essential Workers, Mental Health, and the Coronavirus Pandemic
Evidence is emerging of the pandemic disproportionately impacting communities of color. This study investigates mental health distress among essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic across race and ethnicity. We evaluate individual responses to the patient health questionnaire and general anxiety disorder questionnaire using a unique, nationally representative data set. Distance Learning and Parental Mental Health During Covid-19
As COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the country, there is a concern about the extent to which this pandemic will affect students. Since March 2020, schools transitioned to a distance-learning format, which unintentionally forced parents into new teaching roles as proxy educators.
