Assessing Sensitivity to Unconfoundedness
This article provides a set of methods for quantifying the robustness of treatment effects estimated using the unconfoundedness assumption. Specifically, we estimate and do inference on bounds for various treatment effect parameters, like the Average Treatment Effect (ATE) and the average effect of treatment on the treated (ATT), under nonparametric relaxations of the unconfoundedness assumption indexed by a scalar sensitivity parameter c. These …
Estimation of Models With Multiple-Valued Explanatory Variables
We study estimation and inference when there are multiple values (“matches”) for the explanatory variables and only one of the matches is the correct one. This problem arises often when two datasets are linked together on the basis of information that does not uniquely identify regressor values. We offer a set of two intuitive conditions that ensure consistent inference using the average of the possible matches in a linear framework. The first co…
L’expérience émotionnelle du joueur en échec dans l’art vidéoludique
Following Jesper Juul’s study in The Art of Failure, we try to broaden the comprehension of art and negative emotions related to the failure in video games, and to offer some reasoning regarding the paradox of failure that may not be that paradoxal after all. First of all, we examine what characterizes the art of video games. Moreover, we present some types of failure and its relation with the player’s experience. We then analyze four video games…
