A Late Neolithic Structured Dwelling: The Automobile Village of Lachaup, Gap (Hautes-Alpes) (Abridged version)
The Village Automobile de Lachaup, located about 5 km south of Gap agglomeration, was the subject of a preventive excavation in 2015 executed by Inrap under the direction of D. Dubesset. Le site du Village Automobile de Lachaup, localisé à environ 5 km au sud de l’agglomération de Gap, a fait l’objet en 2015 d’une fouille préventive réalisée par l’Inrap sous la direction de D. Dubesset. Il se développe sur la pente occidentale d’un petit relief culminant à environ 720 m d’altitude. L’étude a permis la mise au jour d’un habitat structuré s’articulant à partir d’un fossé. The excavations realized in Espace Mangin lead to a better knowledge of the site plan and the chronology of the forum, along the southern branch of the cardo. Hence, we can have for the first time a precise idea of the connexion between the two urban networks of the Roman city and the buildings dated from Caesar period, before the déduction of the colony.
