    A total of 174 Latinx undergraduates attending a predominantly White institution provided online responses regarding motivating persons, processes, and factors that helped them persist in college. Using a multi-step, content-based qualitative approach, there were three meta-themes (i.e. family, friends and peers, and self) with 15 themes developed from 350 response items.     Using a phenomenological approach, we interviewed 16 Latinx college students pursuing STEM degrees at four Northeastern universities to explore the forms of capital that first- and continuing-generation Latinx students use as they enter and navigate postsecondary STEM pathways.     Using a psychosociocultural approach, we examined the role of motivation, belonging, and congruity relative to sense of mattering for 236 Latinx undergraduates attending a public Midwest research university. Findings revealed the key role of belonging in understanding undergraduates’ experiences where belonging accounted for more than half of the variance of mattering as well as mediated the relationship of congruity and mattering.
