Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, was ein Konzept von Postautonomie gegenüber demjenigen der Heteronomie für die Beschreibung aktueller Tendenzen der Gegenwartsliteratur leisten könnte. Argumentiert wird, dass eine Beobachtung von Gegenwartsliteratur und Literarizität davon profitiert, an frühere theoretische und literarische Entwürfe zum Verhältnis von Ästhetik und Gesellschaft angebunden zu werden

Der Artikel setzt sich mit einem in jüngster Zeit vermehrt zu beobachtenden Narrativ auseinander: der Erzählung von der Herkunft aus einem deklassierten Milieu. This contribution asks whether Anton Reiser can be perceived as an early institutional novel, and to which degree. It draws on the assumption that in making the relevance of real educational institutions visible, Moritz’s novel shows how these institutions shape Reiser’s life, and at the same time, Anton Reiser portrays narration as an institution which forms biographies and shapes itself in depicting the protagonist’s life
