Resourceful family economy during LGBTQ family-forming processes
This study explores how LGBTQ parents in Finland account for the role of financial resources in their family-forming process before the child is born or otherwise joins the family. Semi-structured, thematic, face-to-face interviews (n=18) were conducted, audio-recorded, transcribed and analysed with reflexive thematic analysis. This study explores the negotiations taking place in LGBTQ families before a child is born or added to the family. It asks who takes part in the negotiations and what issues are negotiated about. An online questionnaire answered by LGBTQ parents (n = 74) was analyzed with qualitative content analysis. A classroom of our own: Transforming interdisciplinarity locally
This article analyses interdisciplinary practices produced and reproduced in Women's/Gender Studies teaching and curricula at the local level. In particular, the focus is on the role of communities of practice. The analysis shows that the interaction patterns in the WS/GS communities of practice have undergone fundamental transformations from informal networking within an emergent feminist academic community to diverse institutionally driven inte…

This article analyzes the debate among family experts about fathering in Finland from the 1980s to recent years. The controversy is whether shared parenting between women and men is good for children and for men themselves or whether a gendered division of parenting should be advocated instead.
