Open Access•Margo A Gregor, Alejandra González et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Career Assessment•2026

This research amplifies the voices of 77 tenured and nearly tenured women in STEM academia who responded to a series of open-ended questions regarding perceived barriers and supports on the path toward tenure. The current study compared these responses to those collected five years earlier, when participants were untenured, to analyze changes over time (Gregor et al., 2022). Consensual qualitative research-modified (CQR-M; Spangler et al., 2011) …

  • Cyber abuse and posttraumatic stress disorder among racially diverse women who have resided in domestic violence shelters

Open Access•Alejandra González, Alejandra González Celis et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2025

Although more CA is associated with more severe PTSD symptoms from the time women are in shelter to postshelter, 3, 9, and 15 months postshelter, this is no longer the case when overall IPV is considered. This study extends our understanding of how CA can exacerbate psychological health consequences, including PTSD severity, of W-DVS, suggesting that cyber abuse should be assessed in tandem with other IPV types rather than as a separate phenomeno…

  • Relationship between emotional awareness, symptoms, and protective factors in children exposed to intimate partner violence

Eva María Ortiz Jiménez, J Gómez-Benito et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2024

This study highlights the relevance of EA for children EIPV. Lower EA was associated with higher symptom severity, while higher EA was linked to better self-esteem, social skills, and resilience. • The damaging legacy of damage‐centered LGBTIQ+ research

    Open Access•Rebecca Cipollina, Mollie A Ruben et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Issues•2024•Cited by: 7•References: 116

Research on LGBTIQ+ populations has focused primarily on identifying problems in the community (e.g., health disparities) and their predictors (e.g., minority stressors, discrimination). Scholars have argued that the approach of highlighting “damage” or deficits has been helpful for advocacy but has also harmed this community by perpetuating stereotypes (e.g., LGBTIQ+ individuals are unhealthy), ignoring or devaluing positive LGBTIQ+ experiences,…

  • Reimagining LGBTIQ+ research – Acknowledging differences across subpopulations, methods, and countries

Open Access•Tabea Hässler, Nicole Theiss Fogwell et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Issues•2024•Cited by: 14•References: 98

Inequalities and discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, and sex characteristics remain pervasive worldwide. Scholars have collaborated to address structural and social barriers in LGBTIQ+ research, creating a substantial literature base. However, much of this work focuses on specific segments of the population, overlooks resilience‐ and strengths‐based approaches, and is predominantly conducted in the U.S. and other Western …

El sistema de protección de la infancia ha hecho evidente su crisis provocando la instalación de una reforma al sistema. En este artículo se propone un análisis crítico a la implementación de esta política, a …
