The Third Realm and Informal Sector Entrepreneurship in Urban China
A new acquisition model for the next disaster
Using primary data collected from interviews with federal and state government officials and secondary data related to PPE distribution and state healthcare statistics, we discovered evidence that the use of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to distribute personal protective equipment to state and local agencies in need during the height of COVID‐19 was indeed poorly designed to cope with the COVID‐19 emergency, leaving many states with shor…
Soil nematode communities and functions
Ecological restoration of open‐pit mine wasteland is critical to the sustainable development of the mining industry. Using high‐throughput sequencing, we analyzed soil properties and nematode community structure and function to evaluate the impact of ecological package restoration on the quality of underground ecosystem reclamation in desert steppe open‐pit mine wasteland. After 7 years of ecological package restoration at an open‐pit quarry, two…
Restoration of damaged ecosystems in desert steppe open‐pit coal mines
Repair of damaged areas in open‐pit (opencast) coal mines has emerged as an important environmental concern. Our research investigated the mechanism by which different ecological restoration methods affected soil nematode communities in damaged areas of desert steppe coal mines. Using high‐throughput sequencing technology, nematode community composition, diversity, and function were analyzed to determine the response of nematodes to different eco…
From Equivocality to Reflexivity in Biodiversity Protection
This article focuses on the silent conversations by individual change makers reflecting on their concerns in relation to their social and natural worlds. We investigate the internal and external deliberations that informants have by using a qualitative theory-building approach in the empirical context of a biodiversity protection issue field in Finland. We conduct 27 interviews with individual change makers representing three types of organizatio…
Evaluation of the effectiveness of comprehensive drug price reform
The CDPR controlled the increase in medical expenses effectively and adjusted its structure reasonably. However, it also reduced the medical service utilisation of inpatients in secondary and tertiary hospitals and financial reimbursement for inpatients in tertiary hospitals
Sustainability
This article summarizes what sustainable supply chain management ( SSCM ) is and how creating more sustainable supply chains likely impacts supply chain performance. It then critically details what practices differentiate best practice in SSCM from more traditional supply chain management. The focus is on how to become more sustainable because researchers now recognize that all supply chains will have to move in this direction to survive in a wor…
