Paving the path to employee voice
Despite extensive research on leaders' endorsement of employee voice, the transparency of their communication of endorsement criteria remains underexplored. This omission is consequential: when employees perceive endorsement processes as opaque, they struggle to discern what constitutes valuable voice and consequently hesitate to speak up. Drawing on the social information processing theory, this study investigates how leader voice endorsement tr…

Make or Break? How Positive and Negative Family Experiences Affect Workplace Creativity
Employee creativity is pivotal for organizational innovation, yet studies to date have primarily focused on the impact of individual and work‐related characteristics on creativity while neglecting the influence of family factors. Drawing on the work‐home resources (W‐HR) model, this study aims to explore how positive family experiences such as spousal positive affect and negative experiences such as housework could potentially boost or impede wor…
The mixed blessing of leader mindfulness
Social scientists and practitioners alike, so far, assume that leader mindfulness is inherently beneficial while paying limited attention to its potential drawbacks. Drawing upon social information processing theory, we contend that leader mindfulness is a mixed blessing as it relates to follower creativity. Using two multi‐wave, multi‐source field studies, our findings indicate a negative relationship between leader mindfulness and leader–follow…

How the perceived value of green creativity influences employees’ green creativity
Employee green creativity is a key aspect of achieving low-carbon goals. Yet the proximal driving factors related to the creators of underlying green creativity have been largely understudied. Based on regulatory focus theory, we introduce the concept of perceived value of green creativity (PVGC) to explore how it affects employee green creativity. Using a time-lagged research design, 311 paired datasets were collected from front-line managers an…
Eroded sovereignty or algorithmic nation Transnational diffusion of blockchain in governance
This paper explores the relationship between transnational non-state actors and sovereignty through the adoption of blockchain technology in governance. Governments have introduced a growing number of blockchain applications to reform state functions and authority mechanisms. Initial expectations for blockchain were to act as a disruptive and transformative force to decentralise state authority; however, this is only part of the real picture. The…
Can the Psychosocial Safety Climate Reduce Ill-Health Presenteeism? Evidence from Chinese Healthcare Staff under a Dual Information Processing Path Lens
Because of heavy workloads, non-transferable responsibilities, and shift systems, healthcare staff are prone to ill-health presenteeism. Based on social information processing theory, this study explored the influence of the psychosocial safety climate (PSC) on ill-health presenteeism. The mediating effects of perceived instrumental support and perceived emotional support and the moderating effect of organic structure in this process were observe…
