Developing an Intervention to Enhance Parental Monitoring in Family Foster Care

This article describes how we are developing an intervention aimed at enhancing parental monitoring as a protective factor in family foster care. Methods: Focusing on the initial parts of Fraser et al.'s step…
Feasible interventions for children in foster care according to service users and practitioners
Multiple obstacles exist to introducing evidence‐based methods in social work practice. The study directly interacts with social work practice and maps the interventions practice prioritizes when supporting children or parents. Specifically, the study examines service users' and practitioners' assessment of the feasibility of systematically evaluated interventions in the everyday life of foster care families. To integrate the different perspectiv…
A Comparative Study of the Use of Different Risk-Assessment Models in Danish Municipalities
Risk-assessment models are widely used in casework involving vulnerable children and families. Internationally, there are a number of different kinds of models with great variation in regard to the characteristics of factors that harm children. Lists of factors have been made but most of them give very little advice on how the factors should be weighted. This paper will address the use of risk-assessment models in six different Danish municipalit…
