Body Mass Index Changes from Before to 3 Years After the Covid-19 Lockdown
Background/Objectives : The COVID-19 pandemic and related lockdown measures markedly disrupted children's lives, raising concerns particularly about their weight. We investigated changes in body mass index (BMI) in children by grade and sex, from pre- to post-COVID-19 lockdown, and BMI recovery post-lockdown. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the height, weight, and BMI of students from a single elementary school from 2019 to 2023, excluding …

(2) Methods: A retrospective analysis and online sur…
Analysis of Cause-of-Death Mortality in Children and Young Adults with Diabetes
We examined the associations of clinical characteristics and cause-of-death patterns with mortality in children and young adults (<30 years) with diabetes. We analyzed a nationwide cohort sample from the KNHIS database using propensity score matching from a sample of 1 million people from 2002 to 2013. There were 10,006 individuals in the diabetes mellitus (DM) group and 10,006 in the control (no DM) group. The numbers of deaths were 77 in the DM…
Can Body Mass Index Affect Height Growth at Menarche among Girls Receiving Treatment for Early Puberty? A Retrospective Study in Korean Girls
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) therapy is used to control puberty progression and it preserves height potential in patients with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP). This study evaluated the correlation between weight and height gain at menarche following GnRHa treatment among girls with ICPP and relatively central early puberty (EP). We investigated height/weight trends and changes in height from diagnosis to menarche in…
The student–faculty interaction beyond the formal curriculum in South Korea
The purpose of this study was to identify and categorise factors that hinder Korean college student‐faculty interaction. Twenty‐one college students who had advising experience with faculty were interviewed. Concept mapping was used to collect, organise and interpret qualitative data through quantitative techniques. These factors were recorded on index cards, and 21 participants returned and sorted these statements into self‐defined, conceptually…

Non-Traditional Security Issues in North Korea
Non-Traditional Security Issues in North Korea
The concept of security has undergone significant change in the past few decades: it has been broadened to include a greater number of potential threats and an increased number of relevant actors.
