  • The Prevalence and Patterns of Menopausal Symptoms in Women Living with HIV

Open Access•Hajra Okhai, Caroline Sabin et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS and Behavior•2022

Increasing numbers of women with HIV are experiencing menopause. We use data from a large, representative sample of women with HIV to describe the prevalence and clustering of menopausal symptoms amongst pre-, peri- and post-menopausal women using hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis. Of the 709 women included, 21.6%, 44.9% and 33.6% were pre-, peri- and post-menopausal, respectively. Joint pain (66.4%) was the most commonly reported sympt…

  • Correlation between computerised and standard cognitive testing in people with HIV and HIV-negative individuals

Davide De Francesco, Jonathan Underwood et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2021

We investigated the correlations and agreement between cognitive assessments made using a computerised (CogStateTM, six domains) and a standard pen-and-paper battery (five domains) in PWH and lifestyle-similar HIV-negative individuals. Demographically adjusted domain and global T-scores were obtained and used to define cognitive impairment according to the multivariate normative comparison (MNC) criteria. Correlations between T-scores and the agr…

Alicia M Hughes, Lucy Campbell et al.•ARTICLE•Behavioral Medicine•2020

This study aimed to identify the prevalence and predictors of current fatigue and fatigue at 1-year follow-up, in people with HIV. Participants were recruited from HIV outpatient clinics in London, England. We explored a range of bio-psychosocial factors associated with current fatigue severity, identifying the most salient factors in a multifactorial model. A prospective study explored the predictive value of specific psychological and behaviora…
