Glenna L Read, Steven Holiday et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Advertising•2024

Biometrics advertising research describes various measures of consumers’ physiological responses to advertising messages that often use computational methods to make inferences about consumers’ psychological processing of these messages. Zijian Harrison Gong, Steven Holiday•ARTICLE•Journal of Interactive Advertising•2023

Micro- and nanoinfluencers are typically segmented based on number of followers, yet follower count cannot adequately explain the different persuasion outcomes between micro- and nanoinfluencers. Based on the persuasion knowledge model (PKM), a content analysis and two experiments were conducted to examine (1) the relationship between parasocial attributes, influencer type, and engagement rates and (2) whether influencer type and parasocial attri…

  • How they got to Sesame Street

    Open Access•Steven Holiday•ARTICLE•Journal of Early Childhood Literacy•2023

One of the staple components of Sesame Street over the last 50 years is the short, animated segments that periodically interrupt the narratives and focus on brief educational and literacy concepts. Histories of the show have recognized these segments and referred to them as commercials, but to date, literature lacks a comprehensive examination of the managerial forces involved in planning and producing these commercial segments to identify the de…

Steven Holiday, Nancy Brinson•ARTICLE•Journal of Interactive Advertising•2022

Parents understand and are concerned about the influence that personalized advertising, designed to more directly engage and influence their children, is having on the youngest consumers. • Corporate social responsibility & the advertising strategic planning process

Jameson L Hayes, Steven Holiday et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Global consumers are increasingly expecting brands to strive to positively impact the communities and societies in which they exist. • The cause effect

Steven Holiday, Jameson L Hayes et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

While these associations with causes can positively impact brand equity, brand loyalty, and brand-favorable consumer choice, it is less understood whether corporate cause involvement has the ability to create cause associations in consumers that transcend the brand’s involvement and lead to enduring cause-oriented behaviors. This study uses social media analytics an…

The sharenting practice, or the sharing of one’s parenting and children online, has become a popular topic of critical focus that decries it as an exploitative disregard for children’s privacy and rights. The practice is performed, however, by a population (i.e., parents) that is generally inclined to protect its children, raising the present research question of whether sharenting could be alternatively guided by self-presentational goals. Guide…
