  • Effects of anthropomorphic features of generative artificial intelligence tools on learners’ role perceptions: Evidence from interview and fNirs

Liangliang Xia, Yan Dong et al.•ARTICLE•Interactive Learning Environments•2026

While generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is increasingly being designed for human-like roles to facilitate learning, the extent to which learners perceive GenAI as a real human remains unclear. This study investigated the impact of anthropomorphic features of GenAI on learners' role perceptions and their neural correlates. A 2 (task difficulty: low and high) ×3 (anthropomorphic features: control, low, and high) mixed design was conducted.…

  • Chronotype, Sleep Pattern and Use of Bedtime E-devices Among High School Student-Athletes

Open Access•Chee Keng John Wang, Stephen F Burns et al.•ARTICLE•American Behavioral Scientist•2026•References: 53

High school student-athletes are at risk of sleep disturbances due to a shift in circadian rhythms that delay their bedtimes and wake up times. The present study aimed to investigate sleep patterns, sleep loss, social jetlag, sleep quality, sleep disturbance and time spent on electronic devices (E-devices) at bedtime in high school student-athletes of different chronotypes. A total of 158 high school athletes ( M = 17.4 years old, standard deviat…

  • The Effects of an Intervention Programme Using Information Communication and Technology on the Teaching and Learning of Physical Education in Singapore Schools

    Open Access•Koon Teck Koh, Wei‐peng Teo et al.•ARTICLE•Education Sciences•2025

This study examined the impact of an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) intervention program on teaching and learning in Physical Education (PE). The research involved 47 PE teachers from 47 Singapore schools and 838 students across primary and high schools. Teachers with little or no ICT experience (n = 24) and their students (n = 430) were placed in the intervention group. Data were collected using accelerometers, the Activity Perce…

  • Adolescents' sleep patterns, chronotype, social jetlag, school arrival time and sleep duration: Comparisons of three post-secondary education systems in Singapore

Open Access•John Wang, Chee Keng John Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2025•Cited by: 1

The current study provides evidence of significant differences in sleep patterns, MSFsc, social jetlag, and sleep duration across three post-secondary educational institutions, with fewer differences observed between the two genders. The sleep inadequacy among Singapore adolescents is a serious concern and this needs to be addressed with urgency given the strong evidence for insufficient sleep

  • Associations of Class-Time Sitting, Stepping and Sit-to-Stand Transitions with Cognitive Functions and Brain Activity in Children

    Open Access•Emiliano Mazzoli, Wei‐peng Teo et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Previous research showed that children's physical activity is positively related to executive functions, whilst screen time shows negative associations. However, it is unclear how school-based sitting time and transitions from sitting to standing relate to cognition. We investigated the relationship between class time sitting/stepping/sit-to-stand transitions and cognitive functions in Grade 1-2 children. Overall, 149 children (7.7 ± 0.6 years ol…
