Lawfare refers to the harnessing and weaponisation of litigation in order to pursue a strategic objective, particularly by large and powerful groups or interests. This article outlines the new concept of “Spiritual Lawfare”: a form of Lawfare leveraged by religious groups, individuals or organisations seeking to undermine or remove the rights of those with whom they fundamentally disagree on ideological grounds. Open Access•Kahsu Gebrekirstos Gebrekidan, Virginia Plummer et al.•ARTICLE•Maternal and Child Nutrition•2021

Evidence from different countries shows that the level of support given to mothers who return to paid employment can significantly determine the duration of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF). However, little is known about how returning to work impacts Ethiopian women's EBF practice. The aim of this study was to explore women's attitudes and experiences of EBF when they returned to work. Mothers who had an infant of less than 12 months, working in go…

  • Same-Sex Marriage

Javier García Oliva, Helen Hall•ARTICLE•Oxford Journal of Law and Religion•2014

The fundamental legal objections which the Church of England has made to same-sex marriage are so general and far reaching as to have implications even beyond the scope of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013. If these arguments are accepted, introducing same-sex marriage into the law of England and Wales will be an inevitable and unacceptable threat to religious freedoms. This article assesses the claim that the recognition of same-sex marri…

  • Human Coprolites from Antelope House

    Gary Fry, H J Hall et al.•ARTICLE•KIVA•1975•Cited by: 9•References: 2

Preliminary analysis of the human coprolites from Antelope House indicates that corn and squash were the primary domestic foods. These resources were greatly supplemented by a wide variety of wild plant foods, apparently indicative of adaptation to a broad spectrum pattern of resource utilization. Meat consumption is inferred from the presence of bone, hair, and feathers in the coprolites. Parasite analysis has demonstrated the presence of the ub…

  • Human fluke infection in Glen Canyon at AD 1250

    Open Access•John G Moore, Albert W Grundmann et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1974•Cited by: 5•References: 5

A fluke egg was identified in a probably human coprolite recovered from a Glen Canyon Utah site of prehistoric inhabitation. True parasitism with the fluke could have resulted from eating snails or fish. False parasitism could have resulted from eating a wide variety of mammals known to have lived in the region. This finding identifies another potential medical hazard in the life of man in prehistoric North America
