  • System level interventions to reduce utilization of general anesthesia to treat dental caries

Open Access•Sharity Ludwig, Eric P Tranby et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Public Health Dentistry•2020

Dental caries are the most common chronic disease of childhood. Untreated caries can result in severe pain and infection; and in some cases, difficulties in eating, speech, and education. The majority of problems were relational (50.4%), followed by financial (19.8%), work (…

  • Work and Family in Times of Crisis

Melissa Mitchell, Lauren Zimmerman et al.•BOOK•The Oxford Handbook of Work and…•2015

This chapter considers the effects of nonwork crises on the work–family interface. Drawing from Crisis Theory (Caplan, 1961, 1964), we develop a framework to understand how crisis events may affect work and family life over time. In so doing, we examine the short- and long-term work–family outcomes of crisis, and consider potential moderators of the associations between the experience of a crisis event and these outcomes. Next, we apply the frame…

  • Need Fulfillment in Polyamorous Relationships

Melissa E Mitchell, Melissa Mitchell et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2014

Polyamory is characterized by simultaneous consensual romantic relationships with multiple partners. Polyamory allows individuals to fulfill their relationship needs with multiple romantic partners, yet researchers have not identified how having needs met in one romantic relationship may be related to relationship outcomes in a concurrent relationship. Polyamorous individuals (N=1,093) completed online measures of need fulfillment, relationship s…
