  • Temperament, Self‐Regulation, and Problematic Media Use in Chinese Preschoolers

Open Access•Keya Ding, Xinyi Dong et al.•ARTICLE•Human Behavior and Emerging…•2026

Problematic media use (PMU) presents increasing challenges for young children in the digital age. Grounded in the Interactional Theory of Childhood Problematic Media Use and social cognitive theory, this study examined the chain mediating roles of cognitive self‐regulation (CSR) and emotional/behavioral self‐regulation (EBSR) in the relationship between temperament (negative affectivity [NA] and effortful control [EC]) and PMU. Participants inclu…

  • Revealing future effectiveness of protected areas for biodiversity conservation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

  • Distinct and overlapping neural correlates of English L2 and coding learning in Chinese preschoolers

  • How Early Digital Experience Shapes Young Brains During 0-12 Years

Dandan Wu, Xinyi Dong et al.•ARTICLE•Early Education and Development•2024

Research Findings: Early digital experience (e.g. screen time and digital use) is believed to impact children’s brain development, functionally and structurally, but this impact has not been systematically reviewed. In this scoping review, we synthesized and evaluated 33 collected studies on children’s digital use (ages 0–12) and their associated brain development published between January 2000 and April 2023. The synthesis of the evidence reveal…

  • Social avoidance and social adjustment in Chinese preschool migrant children

Open Access•Jingjing Zhu, Xiaoqi Yin et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

The current finding informs us of the importance of improving teacher-child closeness and reducing teacher-child conflict to buffer the negative adjustment among socially avoidant young children who migrated from rural-to-urban China. The findings also highlight the importance of considering the meaning and implication of social avoidance for migrant preschoolers in Chinese culture

  • Anthropogenic–biogenic interaction amplifies warming from emission reduction over the southeastern US

Open Access•Yawen Liu, Yaman Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2021

A decline of surface biogenic secondary organic aerosols through the mediation of reduced anthropogenic aerosols has been recognized as an air quality co-benefit of anthropogenic emission control over the southeastern US. However, the climate impacts of this anthropogenic–biogenic interaction remain poorly understood. Here, we identified a substantial decline of summertime aerosol loading aloft over the southeastern US in recent decades through t…

  • Environmental effects of the recent emission changes in China
