Digital social prescribing
Introduction Digital Social Prescribing (DSP) represents an innovative paradigm that integrates digital technologies into traditional social prescribing frameworks to address the social determinants of health (SDOH). However, persistent conceptual inconsistencies and a paucity of theoretical clarity have constrained its systematic application and evaluation within public health and nursing practices. Aims This study aims to clarify the definition…
Noncommunicable chronic comorbidities, perceived social support, depression, and health-related quality of life among people with HIV
This study identified both direct and indirect associations between NCCs risk and HRQoL among PWH. These findings can inform to the improvement of HRQoL among PWH and offer insights for refining comprehensive care management strategies
Examining emotional responses and psychological restoration of four types of natural landscapes
Natural environments have been identified to be more effective at inducing positive emotional responses and psychological restoration than built environments. However, there is a lack of evidence on which types of natural environments or which options for design and management are better. This study examined people’s emotional responses and psychological restoration induced by four types of natural landscapes. In addition, the impacts of landscap…
Investigating the Daytime Visibility Requirements of Pavement Marking Considering the Influence of CCT and Illuminance of Natural Light
Pavement marking in daylight with poor quality cannot provide a reference for drivers to specify their own position relative to nearby vehicles. Luminance and Correlated color temperature (CCT) of sunlight is of importance for daytime visibility of in-service pavement markings, which lacks detailed consideration. This paper aims to explore the daytime visibility requirements of in-service pavement markings considering the influence of natural lig…
Study on the Influence of Opposing Glare from Vehicle High-Beam Headlights Based on Drivers’ Visual Requirements
The anti-glare facilities in median strips are designed to block opposing headlights in order to avoid disability glare, but a large amount of headlight leakage results in uncomfortable glare, to the point that drivers can barely detect dangerous obstacles or road conditions. This paper aims to explore the glare range under high-beam headlights on drivers' visual requirements. Based on an analysis of the mechanism of headlight glare, this paper p…
Traffic Safety Improvement via Optimizing Light Environment in Highway Tunnels
Driving in tunnel areas depends more heavily on light conditions than that on open roadways. Traditional lighting systems in highway tunnels adjust lighting parameters only caring about outside light luminance, and focus is usually on energy conservation; however, little concern is about drivers' actual physical and psychological needs. How to leverage the enormous research progress of traffic safety, light environment, human factors engineering,…
Antiviral effect of fufang yinhua jiedu (FFYH) granules against influenza A virus through regulating the inflammatory responses by TLR7/MyD88 signaling pathway
FFYH not only showed a broad-spectrum of anti-influenza virus activity in vitro, but also exhibited a significant protective effect against lethal influenza virus infection in vivo. Furthermore, our results indicated that the in vivo antiviral effect of FFYH against influenza virus may be attributed to suppressing the expression of inflammatory cytokines via regulating the TLR7/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway. These findings provide evidence for th…
Effects of evergreen trees on landscape preference and perceived restorativeness across seasons
Season is an important factor influencing preference and psychological restoration, especially in temperate regions. Evergreen plants can mediate landscape changes across seasons and increase greenness when deciduous trees are leafless. However, what are the impacts of evergreen plants on preference and restoration? The answers are still unknown and important to research. To address this gap this study conducted an experiment, in which, based on …
Characteristics of urban green spaces in relation to aesthetic preference and stress recovery
Demographic groups’ differences in visual preference for vegetated landscapes in urban green space
Language and Time
How we conceptualize time in thought and realize it in language and other modalities has been a persistent theme in various disciplines, including philosophy, psychology and linguistics. In order t
International Institutions and the Chinese Red Cross Legislation
Scholars of globalization generally consider law as the least globalized of social fields.1 This is indeed the case; nation-states invariably view the right to make laws as a core element of sovereignty. International border restrictions also limit the influence of international institutions within the legal sphere. Consequently, as Lester Ross points out, ‘International institutions will not provide effective support for the establishment of law…
