  • What Happens When There Is Presumptive 50/50 Parenting Time? An Evaluation of Arizona’s New Child Custody Statute

William V Fabricius, Michael Aaron et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Divorce & Remarriage•2018

The current study presents the findings of an evaluation of Arizona’s 2013 revisions to the child custody statutes that directed courts to “maximize” the child’s parenting time with both parents. A state-wide survey of the four family law professions (i.e., conciliation court staff, judges, mental health providers, and attorneys) assessed their perceptions of the law 4 years after implementation. We averaged the ratings across the four profession…

  • The Welfare State and Women

Joya Misra, Faren R Akins et al.•ARTICLE•Social Politics International…•1998•Cited by: 11

Feminist scholarship has provided interpretations of power and politics suggesting that welfare policies reflect the social inequalities between groups. We review the literature in this field, discussing the discriminatory and structural critiques of welfare, efforts to highlight the importance of women's agency in the origins of the welfare state, and the recent scholarship that analyzes differences betwen women in terms of class, race, and ethn…

  • Multistimulus discrimination training

Faren R Akins, William Drew Gouvier et al.•ARTICLE•Japanese Psychological Research•1982

In two separate experiments the acquisition of a multistimulus wavelength discrimination was studied. Such discrimination training produced the highest response rates to stimuli peripheral to the extinguished stimulus (S-). Subsequent reinforcement in the presence of the S-produced higher rates to stimuli contiguous to the S-. The results are discussed as providing a novel line of support for Blough's (1975) model of operant generalization and di…

  • Stimulus Alternation and the Peak Shift

Faren R Akins, Wm Drew Gouvier•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•1982

Stimulus Alternation and the Peak Shift." The Journal of General Psychology, 107(2), pp. 299–300

  • The Effect of S+ and S− Alternation on Stimulus Control and the Peak Shift

Faren R Akins, Wm Drew Gouvier et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•1981

In Experiment 1 it was found that a daily alternation of two interdimensional tasks produced a peak shift in subsequent generalization testing. However, only one such alternation failed to result in a peak shift. Intradimensional training following either set of interdimensional tasks produced the peak shift. The results are discussed in terms of the minimal conditions needed to produce the peak shift

  • The Effects of Reinforcement Duration in S 2 on the Peak Shift

Wm Drew Gouvier, Faren R Akins et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•1981
