In Experiment 1 it was found that a daily alternation of two interdimensional tasks produced a peak shift in subsequent generalization testing. However, only one such alternation failed to result in a peak shift. Intradimensional training following either set of interdimensional tasks produced the peak shift. The results are discussed in terms of the minimal conditions needed to produce the peak shift
