Cognition and Academic Achievement
This study evaluated the ability of the Cognitive Levels Test to estimate current achievement in mathematics (as measured by the KeyMath Diagnostic Arithmetic Test) and reading (via the Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests) among a group of 43 handicapped and at-risk children. Manipulatable test anxiety and manipulatable defensiveness against admission of test anxiety were studied in 93 pupils in third-grade arithmetic over 1 mo. under two conditions of arousal, daily testing and daily practice.
