  • Teaching Chinese in the Anglophone World

Luyao Zhang, Zhang Luyao et al.•ARTICLE•Sociolinguistic Studies•2025

  • Developing literacy or focusing on interaction

Open Access•Yang Gong, Gong Yang et al.•ARTICLE•System•2021•Cited by: 12•References: 13

  • Level of moderate-intensity leisure-time physical activity and reduced mortality in middle-aged and elderly Chinese

Ying Liu, A Marchioro et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2018•References: 23

Regular participation in moderate-intensity LTPA was associated with reduced mortality, particularly CVD mortality, even when the LTPA was below the minimum level recommended by current guidelines. Increasing the amount of moderate-intensity LTPA was associated with further risk reduction up to a potential threshold of 3-5 times the recommended minimum

  • Correlates of self-reported dietary cruciferous vegetable intake and urinary isothiocyanate from two cohorts in China

Open Access•Emily Vogtmann, Gong Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Public Health Nutrition•2015

Objective To assess correlations between cruciferous vegetable intake and urinary isothiocyanate (ITC) level, in addition to glutathione S -transferase ( GST ) genotypes and other individual factors. Design The study included cohort participants whose urinary ITC levels had been previously ascertained. Urinary ITC was assessed using HPLC. Usual dietary intake of cruciferous vegetables was assessed using a validated FFQ and total dietary ITC intak…

  • Cholelithiasis and the risk of liver cancer

Emily Vogtmann, Xiao-Ou Shu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2014•References: 28

BACKGROUND: Cholelithiasis and cholecystectomy have been proposed as risk factors for liver cancer, but findings have been inconsistent. We assessed this association using data from the Shanghai Women's and Men's Health Studies. METHODS: History of cholelithiasis and cholecystectomy were reported at baseline and follow-up interviews, and liver cancer diagnoses were ascertained from the Shanghai Cancer Registry and Vital Statistics Unit. Adjusted …

  • Efficacy and safety of Fufangkushen colon-coated capsule in the treatment of ulcerative colitis compared with mesalazine

Open Access•Yang Gong, Gong Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2012

  • Patterns and correlates of physical activity

Open Access•Adriana L Jurj, Wanqing Wen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2007

This study demonstrates that physical activity domains other than sports and exercise are important contributors to total energy expenditure in women. Correlates of physical activity are domain-specific. These findings provide important information for research on the health benefits of physical activity and have public health implications for designing interventions to promote participation in physical activity

  • Sources of variation in nutrient intakes among men in Shanghai, China

Open Access•Hui Cai, Gong Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Public Health Nutrition•2005

Background and objective Random errors, from any source, will attenuate epidemiological risk estimates. Before we launched the Shanghai Men's Health Study (SMHS), a large population-based cohort study investigating the diet–cancer association among Chinese men, a dietary calibration study was conducted among 96 men aged 40–75 years (mean age 56.5 years), with biweekly 24-hour dietary recalls (24HDRs) implemented over a 1-year period. Data from th…
