  • Exposure to prolonged political violence, self-efficacy, and posttraumatic stress symptoms among Palestinian adults

Adeem Ahmad Massarwi, Charles W Greenbaum et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2026

The results provide evidence that for adults exposed to political violence low self-efficacy is linked to poor mental health outcomes. Therefore, enhancing self-efficacy among adults in conflict-affected zones may be a beneficial internal resource for coping with traumatic stress following EPV. Open Access•Adeem Ahmad Massarwi•ARTICLE•Violence Against Women•2026•References: 12

There is a well-established body of knowledge on the impact of community violence exposure (ECV) on mental health (MH). Yet little is known about the protective role of individual and social factors on this association, particularly among women in ethnic minority groups. Open Access•Adeem Ahmad Massarwi, Lucie D Cluver et al.•ARTICLE•Child & Family Social Work•2022•References: 6

Parenting stress has a range of effects on parents and their children. Despite existing evidence on the effectiveness of family‐based interventions on reducing parenting stress, little is known about the mechanism of change that contributes to its reduction. This study investigates the mechanism of change in a parenting programme (Parenting for Lifelong Health [PLH]) on reducing parenting stress among parents of adolescents in South Africa. A pra…

Adeem Ahmad Massarwi•ARTICLE•American Journal of Orthopsychiatry•2017
