The Woodcraft Folk and the Labour Movement 1925-70
The Woodcraft Folk, which still flourishes as a movement in Britain today, was founded in 1925, in part to provide a more imaginative and outdoor education for working-class children. Its formation was generated by dissenting bodies from the BadenPowell Scouts who voiced disquiet at the increasing militaristic and jingoistic direction the Scouts were taking after their formation in 1908.
