  • Proboscidea from the Big Cypress Creek fauna, Deweyville Formation, Harris County, Texas

    Open Access•Ernest L Lundelius, Kenneth J Thies et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2019

  • Hoax or History

    Leland C Bement, Ernest L Lundelius et al.•ARTICLE•Plains Anthropologist•2005

The discovery of a bison skull with protruding sections of a Calf Creek projectile point on a sand bar along the Arkansas River near Tulsa, Oklahoma, is investigated using the techniques of high-resolution X-ray computed tomography (CT), biometrics, and radiocarbon assay to determine its authenticity. This high-tech approach permits evaluation of the find without the extraction of the point. Converging lines of evidence suggest the association is…

  • Spatial Response of Mammals to Late Quaternary Environmental Fluctuations

Open Access•Russell W Graham, 一穂 高橋 et al.•ARTICLE•Science•1996

Analyses of fossil mammal faunas from 2945 localities in the United States demonstrate that the geographic ranges of individual species shifted at different times, in different directions, and at different rates in response to late Quaternary environmental fluctuations. The geographic pattern of faunal provinces was similar for the late Pleistocene and late Holocene, but differing environmental gradients resulted in dissimilar species composition…

  • A Pleistocene marsupial fauna from Limeburner's Point, Victoria, Australia

Open Access•William D Turnbull, Ernest L Lundelius et al.•ARTICLE•The Beagle Records of the Museums…•1992

A collection of fossil marsupials, recovered from freshwater limestones at Limeburner's Point near Geelong, Victoria, Australia, is described. The fauna, here named the Limebumer's Point Local Fauna, contains two species of SarcophUus Boitard, one near S. harrisii (Boitard) and S. laniariiis (Owen), and another large speeies; a large vombatid near Disiorhinus medius (Owen): a new species of Simosthenurus Tedtord, S. mccoyi, intermediate in size be…
