A collection of fossil marsupials, recovered from freshwater limestones at Limeburner's Point near Geelong, Victoria, Australia, is described. The fauna, here named the Limebumer's Point Local Fauna, contains two species of SarcophUus Boitard, one near S. harrisii (Boitard) and S. laniariiis (Owen), and another large speeies; a large vombatid near Disiorhinus medius (Owen): a new species of Simosthenurus Tedtord, S. mccoyi, intermediate in size between S. orientalis (Tedford) and S. pales (De Vis); two wallabies, one near Macropus (Notomacropus) parryi Bennett, the other cf.Wallabia bicolor (Desmarest); a large indeterminate macropod; two diprotodontids, Diprotodon "longicep.s"McCoy that is here referred to D. optatum Owen; and an indeterminate species of Zygomatunis Macleay. Most of these taxa belong to extinct lineages. The faunal assemblage indicates a mid-Pleistocene age which is in accord¬ ance with recent conclusions based on magnetic polarity stratigraphic analysis and earlier stratigraphic correlations
